“I want to conservatively spend our tax dollars,
eliminate waste, and bring sound business ideas
to local government.”
– Ed Lane
A “Citizen Legislator”
Ed Lane is not a politician. As a “citizen legislator,” he seeks to bring more than two decades of business experience to the Urban County Council. His historical perspective, passion for the Bluegrass, and business expertise will help the Council solve the critical issues facing Lexington.
Ed Lane sees important issues that need to be addressed:
-
Carefully spending our tax dollars; eliminating waste and managing the budget like a business
-
Promoting economic development and technology – as a part of Commerce Lexington – and creating employment opportunities for our citizens and children
-
Maintaining Fayette County’s farms as a vital component of Lexington’s economy
-
Paying fair compensation to public safety officers and employees of local government
-
Improving traffic with better planning
-
Building adequate sanitary and storm sewer systems
-
Improving the quality of K-12 and postsecondary education throughout the region
